About The Marketplace
The Marketplace opened in 2006, and is owned and operated by Christy Wood. After a long career in the sales and marketing arena, Christy and her family moved to North Carolina from California. She was looking to create a business where she would have flexibility while her children were young and still in school. She left the corporate work with $300 in the bank and opened a plus-size consignment store above a tanning salon, while doing eBay sales on the side.
That business took off and Christy eventually met a local auctioneer who introduced her to the antiquing community. She moved the business into a larger building and started renting booths. Over the years, we have expanded from 25 vendors to over 100, and now offer a variety of services in addition to antique and collectible sales.

Our staff are also our vendors so they have a vested interest in our success. Most of them have worked the register for us for many years. They are the best! We are committed to helping our customers feel at home when they come to our place. We cater to everyone from the average buyer to the high-end antique collector.

Full Service Liquidations
We take the pain out of liquidating your loved one’s estate in your time of need. We have the skills and experience to do complete and partial estate liquidations, as well as household and business liquidation services.
DIY Classes & Workshops
